05 May - Colinton Market - St Cuthbert's Episcopal Church hall, Westgarth Avenue, 2 - 4 pm

06 May - Colinton Tennis Club Open Day - 10 am - 4 pm All welcome ~ facilities free for visitors

12 May - Colinton Amateur Orchestral Society Concert - George Watson's Music School Auditorium, 7:30 pm.
This will be an evening of music from the time of the Titanic and the White Star Line songbook including Strauss, Brahms, Elgar, Gilbert and Sullivan and Mozart Horn Concerto no. 1. Tickets are £6 (students £3).

When did you last visit Colinton Library? If it was some time ago you ill notice many new and interesting changes. Our librarian, Heather Rose, has instigated programs for all ages in the community. Heather, and her colleagues, are very keen for the whole community to benefit from services the library has to offer.

Among the activities available are:-

Book Club - last Wednesday of the month 1400 - 1500 hrs. This provides a forum to discuss a book of the group's choice. It also opens new reading horizons for the members. See the librarian for urther information.

Rhyme Time - for ages 0 to 3 every second Thursday 1015 - 1045 hrs.

Storytime
- for ages 3 to 5 approx: first Friday of every month 1415 - 1445 hrs.

Craft Sessions
- for ages 5 to12: last Friday of the month 1400 - 1500 hrs.

Family History
taster sessions (see library for details of next course)

Planned Basic Computing course

Local author presentations

The library also caters for the senior citizens in the community with a ibrary Link for Senior Citizens: WRVS volunteers will pick you up, take you to the library for books and a cup of tea and take you home again. This is a fortnightly service. Check with the library for details 529 5603.

Housebound Service: a selection of books can be bought to your home, fortnightly or monthly, allowing you to make a choice. if you have any suggestions for particular activities you think the library ould provide, please contact the librarian.
